Rabid Dutchman Creator-Friendly License

What is Allowed

Unless a track says otherwise, all of my (Rabid Dutchman) tracks, vignettes, music and writing (including those on this site) are licensed under Creative Commons Attribution–NonCommercial–ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0) plus an additional restriction against AI/ML training. The full license is available here, but, to summarize, this means you are free to:

• • Use the music in videos/streams/podcasts and other projects
• • Remix/sample or build on the music to create an original work

As long as you:

• • Give credit (see below)
• • Keep it non-commercial (see "Not allowed")
• • ShareAlike (if you release a remix, release it under the same CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 license)

Creator monetization note: I consider normal platform monetization (e.g., YouTube Partner Program ads, Twitch/TikTok platform ads, channel memberships/subs) to be OK under “NonCommercial,” as long as your use isn’t a paid advertisement, sponsorship/brand campaign, or otherwise licensing the music as a product. Also: if you use my track via the official TikTok music library, that use may be monetized through TikTok’s music licensing systems and is explicitly OK.

Track-by-track exceptions: Sometimes a release may have different terms (e.g., “All Rights Reserved,” a different Creative Commons license, or additional restrictions). If a track has special terms, I’ll mark it clearly on its release page.

What is Not Allowed

The license does not allow for commercial or paid use, including:

• • Advertisements, commercials, or brand campaigns
• • Synchronization licensing (film/TV trailers, games, apps, paid libraries, etc.)
• • Reselling the music or packaging it as a product
• • Training Large Language Models or other AI/ML systems

If you want to use a track in a commercial project, email me with your details and information about the project and I'll probably say yes - but let's license it properly:

About Re-Uploads and File Hosting

Please do not upload my works as stand-alone downloads on "free music" sites.

Please do not re-release them under your own profile.

Additional Details: Covers

Some releases may include covers of existing compositions. Any Rabid Dutchman releases that are distributed to Spotify/Apple Music/other outlets under the Rabid Dutchman artist profile are released via DistroKid with the necessary rights handled for distribution of those compositions where required (e.g., mechanical licensing), and the platform credits/copyright lines will reflect the relevant rights holders.

This page grants permissions for my works; it explicitly does not transfer ownership of any underlying composition owned by others.
